Charlotte, our Chartered Physiotherapist, is an experienced APPI-trained Pilates instructor and teaches regular Pilates classes to suit all levels of ability and needs. All classes are mat and small equipment based and class numbers are kept small to ensure more individual attention.

What is Pilates?

Pilates is based on a set of principles which exercise the whole body through a range of mat and equipment-based exercises. Pilates combines the co-ordination of deep postural and stability muscles, breathing and arm & leg movements with postural correction, suppleness and flexibility.

With regular practice, Pilates positively changes the body. The method has seen a resurgence in popularity over recent years and continues to expand since it’s creation in the 1920s by Joseph Pilates.

Previously called ‘Contrology’, Pilates has been adopted by athletes, fitness enthusiasts and within the health rehabilitation sector to reduce pain and improve physical function, movement and well-being.

Scientific research is beginning to provide evidence of its effectiveness. Pilates is suitable for all ages and levels of ability.

But why ‘Physio-Led’ Pilates?

‘Physio-Led’ Pilates are a safer version of Pilates for anyone who has experienced back or neck pain as the classes are more structured, smaller in size, and progressed according to ability and you can be assured that the exercises will be adapted and targeted to your rehab or training needs.

Our Classes:

Pregnancy (Ante-Natal) Pilates (Tuesday 6pm)

For women in their second and third trimesters in low risk pregnancies. A fantastic and safe way to exercise during pregnancy – with advice and tips for home given at every class. Permission from your GP recommended before participation. *Ante-Natal Classes are drop-in and pay-as-you-go.*

New Beginners (Tuesday 7pm, Thursday 7pm)

Suitable for men and women of all ages who are new to Pilates. These mat-based classes will work on the APPI Pilates foundations and key principles. An excellent option for anyone carrying joint pain or injury and looking to strengthen and improve flexibility.

Intermediate / Advanced (Tuesday 8pm, Thursday 8pm)

Suitable for those that have done Physio-led Pilates with Charlotte or another physio and are looking for a more challenging class. Expect to feel the burn at this class!

Beginners / Improvers (Wednesday 9.30am)

Suitable for those looking to progress from our New Beginners class, while still working on those basic key principles, this morning class will build on muscle endurance and strength in a higher range and intensity of exercise. A great way to start the day!

Mummy & Baby (Post-Natal) Pilates (Wednesday 10.30am)

Bring your little ones (pre-crawling) along to these Pilates classes to gently regain strength, fitness and mobility giving you confidence to get back to a more regular exercise regime. Safe from 6 weeks post-delivery (with permission from your doctor). All participants receive a post-natal screening at their first class.

Over 65’s (Wednesday 12 pm) **New Class**

A fantastic class for older adults to work on mobility, flexibility and injury prevention while under the instruction of a Physio-Pilates instructor using the foundation principles of Pilates.

6-Week Pilates Class €95 (Returners €85)

*Pay-as-you-go Option (Ante-Natal & Post-Natal classes only) €15 per class
